1.        Estimates

1.1.      Estimates provided by the supplier and are ‘subject to change depending on circumstances arising during work’ Subject to VAT rates and Manufacturer Recommended Retail Prices not altering within the estimate validity period of twenty eight (28) days unless otherwise stated.

2.        Quotes

2.1.      The supplier does not provide quotes for major work (valued above £500) – this is due to the nature of the work and unforeseen circumstances may affect the value and viability of the work.

2.2.      Quotes provided for minor works (below £500) are a fixed price and the supplier will complete the work described in the quote for the amount specified – unless there are major unforeseen issues.

3.        Day Rates

3.1.      Due to the nature of some tasks, it is not always possible to give an estimate, in these circumstances you will be offered the suppliers services at a daily rate of pay, in this circumstance a normal working day comprises of 7 working hours additional time will be charged at a prorated rate of time and a half.

4.        Alterations

4.1.      Any desired alterations to the job specified in the estimate by the customer after work has commenced must be put in writing.

4.2.      Due to the nature of construction work, additional work and/or materials may be required to complete the work that could not have been foreseen at the estimating stage, the supplier will inform you of any such changes as they occur verbally & in writing. The supplier retains the right to stop work and re-estimate where unforeseen conditions make the going, in our opinion, unreasonable to that which was originally estimated.

5.        Working Practice

5.1.      Whilst making every effort not to damage any other part of the property, because of the nature of the work sometimes damage occurs. We cannot be held responsible for any damage caused, legally or financially to the customer’s or the customer’s neighbours property.

6.        Payment

6.1.      A deposit of 50% of the total or the full cost of the goods supplied (whichever is greater) is required before any work can commence

6.2.      Full payment of invoices is due within seven (7) days of the date of the invoice.

7.        Interest on late payment

7.1.      We understand and will exercise our statutory right to claim interest and compensation for debt recovery costs under the late payment legislation if we are not paid according to agreed terms.

8.        Notification of queries and/or complaints

8.1.      Any issues with ongoing work must be raised at the time, verbally and in writing to the supplier, detailing all issues and any actions required to rectify the said issue.

8.2.      Notification of queries and/or complaints must be notified to the supplier in writing within seven (7) days of receipt of goods or service and / or invoice whichever is the latter.

9.        Retention of title

9.1.      Title to the invoiced goods will only be passed to the customer when full payment of the invoice is received by the supplier.

9.2.      The supplier retains the right to come on to any property to regain possession of the goods until the invoice is paid in full.

10.     Cancellation

10.1.   If you have agreed for the supplier to supply goods and or services you may cancel the agreement without penalty by writing to the suppler and giving at least 28 days notice. If goods have been ordered then your deposit is non refundable.

10.2.   If you have agreed with the supplier to supply goods and or services and you cancel the agreement after 28 days before the planned work the full amount for the goods and services becomes payable immediately.

11.     Law

11.1.   ‘The sale of goods and/or service between the buyer and the supplier shall be governed by Scottish law.'

11.2.   ‘The construction, validity and performance of this Agreement shall be governed by Scottish law.'

11.3.   ‘In the event of a default of this agreement, these terms and conditions of sale shall be governed by Scottish law.'

12.     Your Statutory Rights are not affected
